We all know how hard it is to stay motivated when it comes to getting down to the gym every week, but Clifton College is offering a unique combined sports membership to keep their gym-bunnies bouncing by allowing members the flexibility to use both their sites – one in historic Clifton and the other nestled among the green fields of Abbots Leigh.
Richard Avery is the manager of Clifton College’s Sports Centre on Guthrie Road, a well-established facility which is used and enjoyed by hundreds of local people. The Centre has a sister site, The Workshop Fitness Centre, over the Suspension Bridge at Clifton College Sports Ground in Abbots Leigh, and now members can use both facilities for the price of one. “We all know that regular exercise has huge health benefits, as well as helping people relax, lose weight and shape up,†said Richard. “I encourage people to try a range of different activities until they find those that best suit their fitness levels and lifestyle. We have an excellent gym here but that’s not for everyone and even the most motivated of gym-devotees could benefit from a change of scene from time to time. That’s why we’ve opened up our Workshop Fitness Centre in Abbots Leigh to our Guthrie Road members and vice versa. The Workshop has the latest Precor exercise machines and is set on our 90-acre site over the bridge, which comes into it’s own in the warmer months when the gym is transformed into a partially open air facility.â€
